Now available: Thunderegg History Unit, Volume 1

Today marks the release of Thunderegg History Unit, Volume 1: 14 songs, one each from the first 14 Thunderegg albums from 1994 to 2011. The twist—and with the Egg there is almost always a twist—is that this isn’t just a cool little compilation. Each of the mp3s features an embedded essay about the period when the song was written. (After you download the tracks, the stories magically appear on your mobile screen.) It’s kind of like liner notes, or, if you prefer, an indie coming-of-age story with a soundtrack. And no particular moral.
