The first seven minutes of the debut episode of 3-2-1 Contact, from 1980. Shortly after this aired, I remember walking to school in first grade and telling my friends that it was way better than Electric Company. Rewatching now, I’m not sure about that weirdo Stu’s designs on Trini, but the footage from the recording studio is so mint. I’m so glad I was a kid during this era—when the minute-long intro tune for a kids’ PBS show was totally bitchen and unquestionably warranted a full analog session with what appear to be the coolest studio cats in town.
